Country-pop royalty Shania Twain shot to fame with her second studio album, The Woman in Me. She entered the Guinness World Records with her third, Come On Over, the biggest-selling studio album by a female solo artist. Now at 58, the Canadian singer-songwriter is touring for her latest album, Queen of Me, the first in five years. But what intrigues her fans is her recent revelation of what keeps her gorgeous hair shining and healthy.
In recent years, the That Don’t Impress Me Much singer was seen flaunting various vibrant hair colors, including ruby red, bubblegum pink, and beach blonde. In an interview with The Late Late Show with James Corden, Twain talked about her graying hair and how she enjoys experimenting. “I just love it,” Twain told Corden. “As I go gray, I’m like, ‘I might as well toy around with different colors,’ I might change my hair color every week,” she added. The Canadian singer-songwriter believes that hair is an extension of fashion and an “excuse to play with colors.”
However, to experiment with hair colors so frequently, one must have solid roots, and Twain credits her healthy locks to heated olive oil that she applies and wraps in a plastic cap overnight. This prevents the hair from breaking and helps to soften the curls. Who would have thought the secret to such gorgeous locks, despite multiple experiments, was a humble oil found in almost every American kitchen?
But that’s not all. Regarding health, Twain takes a holistic stand to care for all aspects of her body. For instance, she swears by Drunk Elephant’s Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil, which “brings color to my face and leaves it feeling so lovely,” as quoted by Glamour. Twain uses the oil to remove makeup, once in the morning and at night, after a standard face wash. But Twain doesn’t hold the beauty oil secret to her chest; she shares it with her loved ones as Christmas gifts!
In an interview with Todayabout the latest chapter of her life, Twain revealed that she feels “quite liberated.” Also, when asked about the secret to her stamina while touring, juggling interviews, and belting out vocals at an age where people wish to wind down, the Grammy winner credited it to her lifestyle choices. “I drink liquid only on show dates. I don’t eat solids,” she told Today. But the reason for that isn’t just to feel light on her feet; she tends to burp when she sings, which is a solid reason to stick to liquids.
She also pays attention to her mental health. During lockdown, for instance, she worked on her ranch with her horses, cooked meals and soups, and read relaxing books to unwind.
