Eddie Murphy Does THIS to Look Years Younger!
"If I don't die in a plane crash or something, this country has a rare opportunity to watch a great talent grow."
The legendary comedian and actor Eddie Murphy is rarely seen giving interviews, let alone spilling hot tea about his personal life. But in a recent sit-down podcast, he discussed his life and career at length, flooring some misconceptions about him. He also revealed some long-kept secrets about how he defies age with such ease and nonchalance. Like the hosts, we were shocked to learn about them, and you will be too!
Eddie Murphy has a trail of blazing blockbusters, including Coming to America, Dr. Dolittle, Daddy Day Care, The Nutty Professor, and his recent Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, alongside Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Recently, Murphy entered the same league as Oprah Winfrey, Robert De Niro, Audrey Hepburn, Steven Spielberg, Robin Williams, and others who’ve snagged the highly-coveted Cecil B. DeMille award. A colorful life like that comes with a busy schedule, and it’s not easy to maintain a chiseled body through it all. So what’s his secret?
The answer is multifaceted.
The Golden Globe winner is only 62 years old, and his schedule is as intense as his social media life is private. He does one-armed press-ups and works out daily to look convincing while playing characters in their early 40s. He also pays attention to what food he puts into his body and ensures he eats clean.
Earlier, he recounted, Murphy consumed news left, right, and center, including everything written about him, but since the 1990s, things have changed. “I used to know everything about everything,” Murphy revealed at the Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast. “I used to read about everything that was going on. Anything that was written about me I would read.” But for the past 20 years, he has not even read a newspaper. He said he doesn’t read anything written about him. “I don’t read stuff about me,” he added further. “If there’s an article about me, someone has to read through it before they even give it to me… so I don’t know what y’all think.” This means the Bowfinger star doesn’t get entangled in people’s perception of him and, as a result, enjoys some level of peace of mind. And we all know how important peace is to keeping the body healthy!
But Murphy’s steps towards a healthier life don’t end there. He has no social media, no interest in creating a digital space, and no interest in updating fans on all his actions throughout the day. “I don’t need to be on social media interacting with the fans, tweeting that I just ate strawberries,” he said in the podcast. He also doesn’t own a computer or have an email – talk about ‘keeping it clean’!
A source said that Eddie wants to live past 100, and with all that dedication, we’re sure he’s poised to achieve whatever he sets his mind to.
