It’s been over two decades since Monster’s Ball won Halle Berry an Oscar for Best Actress. While Berry managed to move her audiences as a movie star back then, we still can’t take our eyes off this icon, thanks to her radiant, flawless skin, even at the age of 57. So, we dug a little deeper to find what exactly gives her skin that glow. And we’ve cracked it for you!
Halle Berry started her career with a small role in Spike Lee’s Jungle Fever in 1991, but she also found her break as the lead protagonist in Strictly Business, which was released in the same year. There was no turning back for Berry ever since. The Oscar-winning actress has gone on to star in several critically acclaimed and successful movies in which her performance was particularly appreciated—Boomerang, Bulworth, Why Do Fools Fall in Love, Die Another Day, Gothika, Catwoman, and the X-Men series—to name a few. Berry has also been highly active on television all this while, and recently, even signed with Range Media Partners as a producer and director.
We’ve noticed that Berry’s skin seems to be aging backwards of late. And we presumed that her skincare routine must be quite extensive and difficult to follow. But what we found left us amazed!
About skincare and skin health, Berry shared on her Instagram handle, “If your skin looks good, everything else looks good. So I’ve always believed you got to start with the skin.” With merely four steps, Halle Berry’s skincare routine is as basic as it can get. The actress begins her routine by applying a gentle cleanser evenly over her face and neck, rubbing it vigorously in upward strokes for at least half a minute. She also swears by the Philips electric facial cleansing brush, which she goes on to use after spreading the cleanser with her fingers.
Next, she exfoliates using a scrub, and her personal choice is the OLEHENRIKSEN Pore-Balance Facial Sauna Scrub. She then “slaps on” the rejuvenating SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 Masque. She leaves the mask on for 15 minutes before rinsing it off. Berry’s final step is to moisturize the skin, for which her go-to is the Olga Lorencin Skin Care Lactic Acid Hydrating Serum.
Berry also revealed in an interview with PEOPLE that she has become a “pro” at practicing self-care at home during the quarantine. She said, “I’m giving myself more pedicures and facials and concocting things. If I’m doing a deep cleanse on my skin, [I’ll apply] a homemade mask made of yogurt, honey and lemon for vitamin C. I’m really having fun.”
If we knew before that skincare was this basic and achievable, wouldn’t we all have that glowing skin already?
