Cameron Diaz Admits to This Crazy Skincare Routine!

"Kids called me 'Skeletor' as a kid because I was so skinny."

Cameron Diaz, the A-lister of Hollywood who just welcomed her second baby at 51 with husband Benji Madden, recently made a shocking confession. It’s no surprise that, right after acting, looks command the spotlight in Hollywood, and all stars want to look their best. But “looking best” often entails elaborate skincare routines. And while we’re always lurking to uncover the latest beauty secrets of Tinseltown, Diaz has an entirely unconventional take on skincare.

The model-turned-actress is best known for movies like Charlie’s Angels, There’s Something About Mary, and Gangs of New York. But she dazzled the screen right with her first film with Jim Carrey, The Mask, in 1994 despite no prior acting experience. And now looking fresher and more radiant than ever, Cameron Diaz is all set to captivate audiences with her latest Netflix project.

Although she is always lauded for her filmography, it’s her flawless skin that often turns heads. But how does she maintain such fabulous skin? While most dermatologists recommend a simple face wash once a day for healthy skin, as it helps rid the face of dirt, oil, and pollutants that can lead to breakouts, this is not the case for the actress.

When asked about her skincare routine during a recent podcast, she made a shocking confession, and we are yet to wrap our heads around it! Diaz revealed her minimalist approach to the whole thing. But unlike many of her contemporaries, she has taken it to the extreme!

As reported by Grazia, during a podcast recording of Rule Breakers, the actress revealed that she literally did nothing. During the conversation with the host, Michelle Visage, Diaz admitted, “I like never wash my face,” further adding, “Twice a month if I’m lucky, I’ll be like, ‘Oh, I better put this on. One time works, right?’ Like is that all I have to do? I’m just not in that place right now like where I put any energy.”

When asked whether it’s a conscious choice to avoid skin cleansing, Diaz said she has completely left behind all concern for the way she looks. “I think that’s one of the biggest things of the last eight years,” the actress added further in the podcast, as reported by Grazia. “I’m like a wild animal, like a beast. I don’t care. Literally the last thing I think about on a daily basis – like maybe not at all during the day – is what I look like.” She continued.

The actress further revealed that she spent most of her youth as a starlet worrying about her appearance and found herself picking her look apart in the mirror for hours. All the cumulative frustration of the years has led her to care less about Hollywood’s conventional beauty standards.
