Would you be surprised if we told you The Hulk has a skincare routine? Mark Ruffalo is one name we cannot miss when talking about actors with great skin. And we have reason to believe his journey toward skin care began in the 80s, when he starred in a Clearasil commercial. Ruffalo was young back then and barely remembers it, but a quick reminder on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon a few years ago unlocked a memory for the Avengers star.
While on the show with Fallon, Ruffalo mentions how his kids do not enjoy watching him on screen in two particular roles – as a father to someone else and as a husband to someone else. Fallon then asks him whether he remembers his commercial from 1989, which makes the cut for the kids to watch. Following this, Fallon plays a Clearasil ad in which Mark Ruffalo is seen fighting tough acne using one of the brand’s products. Although it is a funny video from his early acting days, it sparks a question – does The Hulk have a skincare routine?
Before mega events like the Oscars, A-list actors like Ruffalo get a deep skin cleanse from their dermatologists and aestheticians to achieve that glowing red-carpet look. A popular choice for many actors is dermatologist Ole Henriksen, who has his own spa in West Hollywood. Mark Ruffalo, Justin Timberlake, Mark Wahlberg, and Hugh Jackman are some of Henriksen’s impressive clientele.
Henriksen says he follows five skincare steps when stars like Ruffalo approach him. It all starts with an exfoliation scrub and a chemical peel. Then, he preps the actors’ skin with sesame oil and uses a detox scrub to remove dirt. The next steps involve applying a special chemical peel, massaging with vitamin-rich oils for hydration, and using a cooling gel to relax the skin. And thus is created a five-step routine that allows The Hulk to flaunt his clear skin on camera!
But that is not the only thing keeping Ruffalo’s skin red-carpet-ready.
According to some reports, Ruffalo is an avid fan of at least one skincare brand we know in the market called Eminence Organic Skin Care, a Hungarian brand started in 1958. There are reports that the actor used their products for cleansing and moisturizing during the filming of Thor: Ragnarok in Australia. Not just Mark Ruffalo, but many other celebrities like Issa Rae and even Jeremy Allen White are known fans of the brand’s skincare products.
