When it comes to skincare, she prefers using things that can be easily found in her kitchen cabinet. “I make my own exfoliator by adding sea salt in plain yogurt. It really works!” she said in an interview with Glamour. She added, “I also use baking soda to polish my teeth; it feels great.”
Besides, she never fails to use this simple skincare essential – coconut oil! She calls herself the coconut oil bandwagon. During a Facebook chat the actress wrote, “I use it on my face, my body and even my hair. Couldn’t live without it!” She also revealed that she uses the oil on a damp washcloth as a natural makeup remover. But the Hitch actress knows that even after using the best moisturizer, the skin needs hydration from within. During an Estée Lauder interview, Mendes said, “For me, it really does start with what I put into my body and if you’re not hydrating, you really see it in your skin.” Earlier, she had also told Shape, “I drink a lot of water. I always keep a bottle with me and kind of force myself to drink. My skin just looks better when I’m hydrated.”
But that’s not the only secret behind her youthful persona. Eva Mendes also believes in exercise. Her wellness routine includes strength training, running, and having protein-rich meals, mainly rice and beans. We bet that some of us are going to do what Eva does over the next few weeks.
